Li Junliang is a distinguished contemporary artist who has made significant contributions to the world of Chinese art, particularly in the realms of printmaking and heavy color painting. A graduate of the prestigious Printmaking Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Li holds a Master's degree in Art. His career is marked by numerous accolades, exhibitions, and publications, solidifying his place as a leading figure in the Chinese art community.

Currently, Li Junliang is a member of the China Artists Association and serves as a director of the China Artists Association Research Society for Heavy Color Painting. His academic contributions extend to his role as an associate researcher at CAFA and vice-chair of the Discipline Committee at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Affiliated High School. Additionally, Li is a visiting professor at Hainan Normal University and holds the prestigious title of National First-Class Artist.

 

National and International Exhibitions:

 

Li Junliang's works have been selected for numerous prestigious national and international exhibitions. Notably, his oil painting Northern Summer was chosen for the 9th National Art Exhibition, a highly competitive platform for showcasing the best of Chinese art. His talent also shines through his printmaking, with his silkscreen print Farmland Series No. 5—Purple Jade earning an Excellence Award at the first China Artists Association Member Oil Painting and Printmaking Exhibition. Another notable achievement came with his silkscreen print Farmland Series No. 10—Backlight, which received the Special Award at the Jilin Province Printmaking Biennale.

Li Junliang’s works have been published in major Chinese art journals, including Art, Rongbaozhai, and Today's Chinese Art. He has contributed to specialized publications on silkscreen printmaking and heavy color painting.

As an author, he has published key books such as The Production and Use of Chinese Painting Colors, The Academic Elite—Li Junliang, and Teaching Models for Chinese Higher Art Institutions. These works highlight his artistic philosophy and influence as an educator, cementing his role in shaping contemporary Chinese art.

 

Li Junliang's work features vivid color and intricate detail, blending classical and contemporary techniques. In his heavy color paintings, he uses bold, layered pigments to create depth, contrast, and evoke emotion, often drawing from nature and rural life.
